Edinburgh performances, along with other forthcoming operas, cinema showings in Edinburgh including the New York Met and Royal Opera House relays, and the regular BBC Radio3 opera broadcasts.  The history of opera and the art of great singing are subjects also included. Lectures are informal, designed both for newcomers to opera and for regular opera-lovers wishing to re-acquaint themselves with details, and are illustrated with piano, recordings, visual material and DVD extracts.  Special offers of CDs, DVDs and books are occasionally available.

The venue is the wonderful drawing room of The Edinburgh Society of Musicians, 3 Belford Road, near the Dean Bridge, 10 minutes’ walk from Princes Street and within a short walk of several bus routes. Lectures start at 7.00pm and will end by 9.15pm. Interval refreshments are available. Evening parking is free and plentiful.  NB: the meeting room is up a flight of stairs but now has access in the form of a stair lift.

You can book in advance now for the 3 terms at a special rate, or for each term separately.
